Pacific Civil Society Says: โSlow down! Experimental Seabed Mining is not a sustainable development optionโ
As we move toward the UN Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio+20 in June 2012 , and in view of the Nadi Conference on Seabed Mining co-organised by the government of Fiji and the International Seabed Authority , we the undersigned civil society groups write to express our deep concern over steps taken to legitimize and fast-track experimental seabed mining as a development option in the Pacific region.
