WWDA Submission and CRPD 9th Session

Later this year the Australian Government will be appearing before the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to be reviewed as to the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) in Australia. The Australian Government has already submitted its formal report and the NGO Shadow Report (which WWDA contributed to) has also been formally accepted.

The CRPD Committee has also formally accepted, and tabled, as a stand-alone Shadow Report, WWDA's recent Submission to the Senate Inquiry into Sterilisation, which was formally endorsed by many, including INWWD.

This is a significant achievement for WWDA, and indeed, for women with disabilities everywhere.
