Experience Sharing on Public Hearing_National Education Law‏

Dear my colleagues and friends working for disability rights,

I was invited by Upper House (Amyothar Hluttaw) to attend public hearing meeting on amendment of National Education Law on March 14 where represents about 45 officials by Hluttaw and 4-Representatives by CSOs side.

MEC financially supported for my trip to NPT.

On behalf of MILI, I made strong presentation and discussion for 35 minutes on the educational situation of persons with disabilities, injustice facts and points in existing law, differences of special education and inclusive education, importance of mainstream education and budget necessity for making the educational right of disabled children real. Besides, the documents of Article-24: UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and specific educational recommendations of MILI on the law were handover and disseminated to all attendees in the meeting. For your information, I attached the document what I presented there detail fact by fact.

Let's continue to join in hands more and more for inclusion of PWDs in national education law and carry on our advocacy together.

We need your support.
