May 7-8, 2009, Jakarta, Indonesia โ Regional Consultation for Child Rights Organizations on the ASEAN human rights body and ASEAN Commission on the Protection on the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC)
FORUM-ASIA and SAPA Task Force on ASEAN and Human Rights Child Rights Focal Point will jointly organize the Regional Consultation for Child Rights Organizations on the ASEAN human rights body and ASEAN Commission on the Protection on the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC) in Jakarta, taking the advantage of ASEAN location in Jakarta. The objectives of the Regional Consultation are to: a) update the development of the CSO engagement to HLP on drafting the TOR on AHRB and Working Group on ACWC to the child rights organizations, b) develop common action plan for advocacy on AHRB (ASEAN Human Rights Body) and ACWC, and c) to provide a venue for child rights organizations to comments and criticize the first draft of the AHRB TOR (Term of Reference). The main output of the regional consultation is the position paper to HLP on AHRB, Working Group on ACWC and CS organizations on child rightsโ perspective to the emerging regional human rights mechanism.
