May 11-13, 2009, Taipei, Taiwan โ 2nd East Asia Human Rights Forum
FORUM-ASIA and TAHR jointly organize the 2nd East Asia Human Rights Forum with the theme โDemocratization and Security Sector Reform in East Asia: Challenges, Opportunities, and Way Forwards for Human Rights Protectionโ. This forum consists of three part of activities. The first day will look at the situation in the country on how the democratic rights had been violated by identifying actors, methods and possible law to limit the democratic rights such as: freedom of opinion, expression, association, and assembly. From the previous forums held by us, we identify that security actors are the one who in from of us in infringing our rights. In the same time, security actors have important role to play to maintain security of the state and population.
