The Society for the Arts in Dementia Care Australia together with Aged Care & Community Services SA & NT Inc is holding the 4th International Conference on Creative Expression, Communication and Dementia at the Adelaide Convention Centre from the 21 - 23 October 2009.

Arts Access Australia is a conference sponsor and speaker on the future of creative ageing.
This event aims to bring together performing artists, seniors, health practitioners, international experts and researchers, managers and policy developers to discuss new ideas to stimulate and enrich the aged care sector through the use of creative expression. The conference will provide and excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and insights about creative approaches that can improve the lives of all seniors.
Conference Themes:
Working towards Best Practices in Arts and Ageing
This theme focuses on best practice creative approaches in implementing the arts undertaken by practitioners such as recreation, art, music, drama and occupational therapists.
Evaluating Creative Expression Programs
This theme describes the methods that have proven successful in evaluating creative expression programs used with well clients and seniors with dementia.
Expressing Culture and Spirituality through the Arts
Presentations are encouraged to demonstrate how diverse ethnic groups of older adults express their culture or spirituality through the arts.
Unlocking the Potential within an Organisation
This theme describes how creativity and the arts can support and enhance the vision and culture of an organisation.
