Human Rights Awards 2009
Our Human Rights Awards recognise the achievements of organisations and individuals around the world who work at a grassroots level to promote human rights and change the things that cause people to be excluded, impoverished or disempowered.
Nominations are sought in four categories:
- Award for the Defence of the Human Rights of Women
- Award for the Defence of the Human Rights of Children
- Award for the Defence of the Human Rights of Disabled People
- Award for the Defence of the Human Right to Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare
The closing date for nominations is Friday 3rd July 2009.
The Human Rights Awards celebrate the commitment and tenacity of these often unsung heroes by: raising the profile of the award-winnersโ achievements; affirming the importance of work that seeks to change the things which cause people to be excluded, impoverished or disempowered; and promoting the importance of working with fundamental respect for all people, especially those who suffer poverty and injustice.
Further information about the awards, eligibility and guidance for making a nomination can be found in the guidance notes.
