Consultancy assignment: Analytical Review of Inclusive Education systems and strengthening UNICEF’s Position Paper on Inclusive Education in NYHQ, USA.

UNICEF, the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, seeks a consultant to undertake the review of existing evidence on inclusive education and, based on these findings, to strengthen and finalize the UNICEF position paper on Inclusive Education. This may require substantial editing of the draft position paper in order to produce an evidence based position paper. For more information, see the attached TERMS OF REFERENCE .

Minimum requirements and competencies:

• Advanced degree in relevant field, preferably education or social sciences;

• At least 6 years of professional experience at the national or international level on issues around education and disability;

• Experience of working with Education and Inclusive Education Systems and Equity issues in international education, especially in the context of Least Developed Countries;

• Strong research and analytical skills and ability to critically assess research evidence and literature;

• Strong organizational and time management skills;

• Ability to work to a tight deadline;

• Excellent analytical and report writing skills.

Senior Project Officer for Education for Persons with Disabilities P4, France, Paris.

Under the overall authority of the Assistant Director-General Education, and of the Director of the Division for Teaching, Learning and Content, and the direct supervision of the Chief of Section of Learning and Teachers, (ED/TLC/LTR), the incumbent will be responsible for the management, administration and monitoring of the project “Promoting the right to quality inclusive education for persons with disabilities” and of the UNESCO/Emir Jaber al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah Prize to Promote Quality Education for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities.

The deadline for submission of applications is 17th October 2014.
