An Introductory Event for Mr. Monthian Buntan, Thailand's Candidate for the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities for the term 2013 - 2016 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On 27 July 2012, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security co-organized an Introductory Event for Mr. Monthian Buntan (Senator and former President of the Thailand Association of the Blind), Thailand's Candidate for the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities for the term 2013 - 2016 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Introductory Event, The opening speech by Dr.Indrarita Nontavacharasirichot, Vice Minister for Social Development and Human Security and Key note speeck from Mr. Nopadol Gunavibool, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the co-chaired the event.

Mr. Monthian Buntan as candidate for election to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities for the term 2013 - 2016. He was well know and acceptable as the one of active key person who push forward the movement of persons with disabilities in national level and internation level, promote the full participation and equal opportunity in society with the right based approach.

The election will be held during the fifth session of the Conference of States Parties to the said Convention from 12 - 14 September 2012 in New York.
