DTP's E-Newsletter (December 2012-January 2013)
New Yearโs Greetings and welcome to the December/January issue of DTP's E-Newsletter. It is again a full issue, with information on human rights across the Asia-Pacific region, including from our alumni, new resources, training opportunities and jobs and calls for support.
Last year was another busy year for DTP. Our programs concluded on December 10, International Human Rights Day, in Timor Leste with DTPโs Founder and Patron, Jose Ramos-Horta presenting certificates from UNSW Faculty of Law to participants (http://youtu.be/N2Kqx0UKDVc ) in DTPโs 22nd Annual Regional Human Rights and Peoplesโ Diplomacy Training Program. The participants join our over 2000 alumni who have completed our programs since Jose taught on the first program in Sydney in 1990.
DTP offers its congratulations to Josรฉ Ramos-Horta on his appointment as the new UN Secretary-Generalโs Special Representative and Head of the UN Integrated Peacebuilding Office in Guinea-Bissau (UNIOGBIS). All here wish him well in this challenging and important new role.
