Brief Introduction

the World Deaf Information Resource Project! This website is an initiative of the Gallaudet University Center for International Programs and Services (CIPS). Gallaudet is the only liberal arts university for deaf students in the world. CIPS operates four different programs: the English Language Institute (ELI), which teaches English and American Sign Language to deaf international students; the Global Education and Scholar Services (GESS), which promotes international exchange programs to and from Gallaudet University; the International Outreach program; and International Student Services (ISS). CIPS is a unit of the Gallaudet University College of Professional Studies and Outreach (CPSO) and is Gallaudet's center for all things international.

Dr. Asiah Mason, director of CIPS, credits this project as being the brain child of Dr. Jay Innes, the Dean of CPSO, and of Dr. Amy Wilson, Director of Gallaudet University's graduate program in International Development. Andrea Shettle coordinated the initial work of gathering information for this project during an internship for Gallaudet's International Development program.
