Second Session of the Working Group in NewDelhi

The Second Session of the Working Group on the Asian and Pacific Decade of Persons with Disabilities was held by ESCAP in cooperation with the Government of India from 2 to 3 March 2015 in New Delhi, India.

The Working Group reviewed the regional progress in the Asian and Pacific Decade of Persons with Disabilities, 2013-2022, including in the implementation of decisions taken at the First Session, and discuss other relevant issues pertaining to the implementation of the the Incheon Strategy to "Make the Right Real" for Persons with Disabilities in Asia and the Pacific.

Kyung-Seok Park, a representative of APDF, shared APDF member’s activities including JDF with 30 members of the Working group. Also, he proposed the ad-hoc meeting to promote the full and effective communication for the implementation of Incheon Strategy, and agreed with the idea of CSO report which RI AP suggested. As a result, UNESCAP accepted to receive reports of Incheon implementation from CSO as well as governments in 2016

The third session of the working group will be held in Bangkok, Thailand by ESCAP in cooperation with the Government of Thailand.
