CBSE to constitute an inclusion committee to address issues concerning children with disabilities

NEW DELHI, INDIA: The Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a circular, advising all its affiliated schools to constitute an inclusion committee to address issues concerning children with disabilities. The committee will comprise four members, including counsellors, educators, teachers and principal, who will be the chairperson.

The committee is expected to act as facilitator for promoting inclusive education at school level and in neighborhood and will also be a referral agency in case of children from disadvantaged groups and weaker sections of society.

All the issues with regard to admission, classroom placements, curriculum transaction, exemptions in examination and any other issue to safeguard the interest of children with disabilities will be addressed by the committee at school level.
