New Handicap Int.Belgium research project 'Sustainable 101:Victim Assistance 10 years on'-Vietnam

Research Coordinator at HI Belgiumโ€™s Policy Unit in Brussels and I would like to introduce you to our new research project โ€˜Sustainable 101: Victim Assistance 10 years onโ€™ which is a follow-up to the โ€˜Voices from the Groundโ€™ project we did last year. I am attaching here a Letter of Introduction for the project, and the questionnaire (and its introductory text) which we have developed for the data collection and analysis. This should give you some additional background information on the project as well as an indication of our proposed methodology.

The PROFILE Questionnaire (please see attached file) will be given to all relevant organisations we are able to identify in 29 focus countries, of which Vietnam is one. The organisations to be included in this research are all national and local non-governmental or civil society organisations in Vietnam which are providing services to people with disabilities including survivors of landmines/cluster munitions/ERW. International organisations and government bodies/organisations are not part of this study. The main objective of the study is to give greater visibility and exposure to the work being done by local organisations in providing services to people with disability.

Could I please request you to circulate this questionnaire and the accompanying information to all those (local NGO) members of the Disability Working Group and the Landmine Working Group which you think may be eligible for this study, requesting them to complete this questionnaire? The higher the number of respondents, the greater the value added to this study and the more comprehensive the on-line directory.

The information given in the Profile questionnaires by each respondent organisation will be used to produce a โ€˜profileโ€™ of the organisation for inclusion in an on-line directory/database. Eventually we hope to create a User ID for each member organisation to access this database directly, which will allow them to update their โ€˜profileโ€™ on a regular basis. This database will not only highlight their work, but will also enable them to see what other organisations working in the same sector in other countries are doing, and by providing their contact details, give them the possibility of contacting them to learn about their work and perhaps even to collaborate with them.

Please download the Questionnaire from: http://www.dpiap.org/news/zip/HI_Victim_Assistance_Vietnam_10_02_25.zip

Please note that the completed questionnaire (if in an electronic format) should be returned to me by email. If you wish to fax the form, you may do so at the following number:
