Saudi " Violations at homes for disabled to be punished

RIYADH โ€“ Violations committed by staff against people with disabilities at care facilities will be dealt with harshly, said Dr. Abdullah Al-Yousef, Deputy Minister for Social Care and Development in the Ministry of Social Affairs .

He said the ministry will not tolerate these violations and will deal โ€œstronglyโ€ with violators, whoever they are. He said it is a vital issue for the ministry. The ministry will impose the severest punishments possible, he said.

Al-Yousef said on Saturday the financial allocations for the disabled are now disbursed monthly instead of every year. Beneficiaries are divided into four categories. Those who receive SR4,000 a year will have get their payments divided into SR2,000 every six months; the other three categories receiving SR10,000, SR14,000, and SR20,000 each every year, will also get their payments in monthly instalments.

He said ATM cards were distributed for beneficiaries and disbursement had begun this month. This disbursement will take place on the 20th of every Hijri month, he said. โ€“ Okaz/SG
