Empowering women to use law as an instrument of change and promoting women's human rights in the Asia Pacific region
It's time for Feminist Development Framework!
Join us in Demanding for Just and Sustainable Development Goals for WOMEN
Dear Members,
The current model of development is not working for women in Asia Pacific. Development that is based on promoting economic growth has exacerbated inequalities and led to obscene wealth for a tiny minority at the expense of the most marginalised: most commonly women of Asia Pacific.
We need to demand a new development model that aims to redistribute wealth, power and resources between countries, between rich and poor and between men and women. APWLD members have been campaigning for a new development framework at Rio, Busan and now through the processes to develop a post-MDG, post 2015 framework.

You can access information about the campaign for 4 transformative development goals here. Our campaign is to have
1. Access and control over land and resources
2. Decent Work and a living wage
3. Peace and Security at home, in the community and internationally and
4. Democratic Voice for women at home, in the community, nationally, regionally and internationally.
Member feedback is welcome and needed. If you are currently engaging with post-2015 development process, please share with us.
Are you Rising on 14th February? If so will you use the opportunity to call on governments to include a goal to eliminate violence against women in the post2015 development framework. We think that itโs possible that they will but we need to make sure that its meaningful.
