May 6, 2009, Jakarta, Indonesia โ Strategy Meeting of Task Force on ASEAN Migrant Workers
FORUM-ASIA and the SAPA Task Force on ASEAN Migrant Workers will organize an one-day meeting with members to address the negative responses demonstrated by the Singaporean and Malaysian governments to minimize the protection aspect of the ASEAN Framework Instrument on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers and the role and involvement of civil society. On 10-13 May 2009, Task Force on ASEAN Migrant Workers will organize a Regional Consultation in Vientianne, Laos to refine the advocacy, lobby and monitoring activities, especially with the upcoming ASEAN Labor Ministry meeting and the creation of Task Force on ASEAN Committee on Migrant Workers.
