May 22-23, 2009, Bangkok, Thailand โ FORUM-ASIA members meeting on Juvenile Justice Reform Network
Five FORUM-ASIA members initiated the Juvenile Justice Reform Network in the region. They are: SAMIN Foundation (Indonesia), JSMP (Timor-Leste), HREIB (Burma-border), PLRC (Philippines) and HRWG (Indonesia). This initiative was a result of discussion between FA members and the secretariat on the lack of measures on impunity non-accountability of law enforcers with child rights perspectives in administration of justice in Asia. The members then suggested to establish a network to reform the juvenile justice in Asia through providing reports for the CRC Committee, UPR, Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice and other international and regional human rights mechanism. The main output of the meeting is the proposal with timeline, plan of activities and strategies to materialize the said objective.
