INVITATION - EDF-EFC Joint Symposium on Legal Capacity of persons with disabilities in light of the UN Convention (Brussels, 4 June 2009)

On 4 June, the European Foundation Centre and the European Disability Forum organise a joint symposium on "Legal capacity of persons with disabilities in light of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)".

The meeting will be opened by Yannis Vardakastanis, EDF President, Miguel Angel Cabra de Luna, Member of the EESC and Co-Chair of the European Consortium of Foundations on Human Rights and Disability, and Mr Staffan Nillsson, President of Group III, European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).

The Symposium will be the opportunity to learn about the views of high profile legal experts on disability and human rights and to exchange best practice and experience during a roundtable discussion.

The symposium will take place on 4 June from 10.00 to 17.30 in the European Economic and Social Committee building in Brussels.

Participation in the symposium is free of charge (no registration fee, coffee breaks and lunch will be provided).Please note that travel and accommodation expenses will not be covered.
