Disability Inclusion within International Development Programs, Two Day Course in Melbourne: Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th June 2012 9 am - 5 pm

Who is it for?

This two day course is designed for people involved in international development who wish to understand more about a disability inclusive approach to development, and how to ensure that development projects are disability inclusive across all stages of the project cycle. It is appropriate for people working across a range of international development agencies and sectors.

Course Description

There is growing awareness and impetus for international development assistance to be more inclusive of people with disabilities. This course introduces the concept of "disability inclusive development" and promotes a range of guiding principles and practices that facilitate the inclusion of people with disabilities. It identifies opportunities for greater inclusion of people with disabilities at key phases of the program cycle - planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation - and in key sectors. The course provides very practical "ow to strategies for disability inclusion in both programs and international development organisations themselves. The course uses participatory methodologies, case studies and has a strong practice focus throughout.
