Challenges in the new millennium for women with disabilities
The International Women with Disabilities Conference will open in Madrid. Under the theme "Challenges in the new millennium for women with disabilities, the three-day conference, hosted by the Spanish Committee of Representatives of Persons with Disabilities (CERMI)", will take place at the ONCE (Spanish National Organisation of the Blind) Sports and Culture Centre in the Spanish capital.
This major international event will bring together around 300 experts in disability and gender from the disability movement, the political sphere, civil society and academia, among other fields, to discuss topics such as WWD in UN human rights treaties, the sexual and reproductive rights of women with disabilities, violence against women and girls with disabilities and mainstreaming gender in the UNCRPD.
