Sun shines on China's disabled at Expo

A pavilion dedicated to people with disabilities will be open to visitors at the Shanghai World Expo. It is the first of its kind in the event's 150 year history. Zhang Haidi, who is renowned as China's Helen Keller, and heads China's disabled persons' federation, says the pavilion will be like a ray of sunshine for those with disabilities.
Zhang Haidi said, "I hope the Life & Sunshine pavilion can fill the life of our brothers and sisters with hope. Among the world's 6 billion people, about a tenth have disabilities, and we have 83 million disable people in China. The figures, as I've said, are complexly meaningful. The word 'disabled' carries so much misery, yet it also shows their fortitude and hopes for a better life. I hope by visiting the pavilion, our brothers and sisters with disabilities can gain new hope in life."
