Equality Branding Campaign ‘HeForShe’

As we approach International Women’s Day, I invite you to participate in our new and exciting equality branding campaign ‘HeForShe’ in which men all over the world are being encouraged to speak out against the inequalities faced by women and girls. It is no secret that women have traditionally led the charge when it comes to ending gender inequality. But to truly effectuate change and reach gender parity, men need to play an active role. HeForShe is about flipping the paradigm of ‘women’s rights’ on its head –raising awareness that it is an issue not for women alone to solve – but a moral, social and economic imperative for humanity.

Intentionally designed as a year-long digital campaign HeForShe ties in elements of social media, online engagement, and mobile communications to engage and connect with audiences worldwide. The campaign will be officially launched on March 7th at the Headquarters commemoration of International Women’s Day, and its website will go live on the same day.

As a build-up to the website launch we are actively soliciting self-created videos from men and boys in response to key questions on gender equality and women’s empowerment. Desmond Tutu, Ban Ki-moon, Patrick Stewart and Antonio Banderas among others have already lent their voices to our cause. Now it’s your turn. Attached is the kit with instruction on how to engage and participate. The French and Spanish version of the kit will follow in the coming days.
