The visitation of Maesot Handicap International in Thailand to DPIAP office

Disabled Peoples' International Asia Pacific (DPIAP) deeply appreciate to welcome the visitation of Three representatives from Maesot Handicap International in Thailand on 21 August 2012, to learning the movement of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in national and regional level and to sharing the activities of Maesot Handicap Internatinal in Thailand.

Handicap International (HI) is an French Non Governmental Organization (NGO) that provides assistance in approximately 30 countries around the world. the activities of the Burmese Border programme includes rehabilitation of landmine victims and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in nine refugee camps along the Thai-Burmese border.

Three of them respond focusing on disability and social inclusion in refugee camps in Thailand along the Thailand Burmese Border.Alomost of the refugees in the camps is Karens who are the victims and impact from the fighting between Burmese army and Karen National Liberation Army.

As of the situation of Persons with disabilities (PWds) in the camp, Maesot HI focus to promote social inclusion of PWDs and community rehabilitation along with renovate accessibility in the camp, aimming to develop quality of life of PWDs in the camps.
