Persons with mental disability continue to have their rights violated
This year we marked the ratification of the UN Disability Convention on 1.1.09 and the criminalization of all who work in locked psychiatric wards after that date. After the commemoration at the T4 memorial plaque a march was conducted through the center of Berlin, past the memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, the Brandenburg Gate to the headquarters of the German Psychiatrists Association in the Reinhardtstr. 14.
Even after the signing of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) persons with mental disability continue to have their rights violated. Psychiatrists and their assistants who allow this to happen are criminals, as outlined in the CRPD. Under this Convention, physical injury and freedom deprivation are crimes. Therefore, we should not allow psychiatrists to discriminate against persons with mental disability.
