Info: 2010 ANNUAL MINISTERIAL REVIEW of the ECOSOC on Implementing the internationally agreed goals and commitments in regard to gender equality and the empowerment of women

The 2010 Annual Ministerial Review (AMR) will be held during the high-level segment of the annual session of the Economic and Social Council, the last week of June 2010 at United Nations Headquarters in New York. It will focus on "Implementing the internationally agreed goals and commitments in regard to gender equality and the empowerment of women". It provides an opportunity to:

The AMR session includes National Voluntary Presentations on countries' progress in implementing internationally agreed development goals, including the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). A record 13 countries will make presentations in 2010. They are: Australia, Brazil, France, Guatemala, Moldova, Mongolia, Namibia, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Republic of Congo, Republic of Korea and The United States.

Several preparatory activities at the national, regional and global level are planned in preparation of the 2010 AMR.
