The visiting of AYAD's volunteers, 30 July 2010
On July 30 2010, Disabled Peoples' International (DPI/AP) warmly welocme the visiting of Mr. David Sharman-Selvidge (In-Country Manager Thailand & Laos, Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development Programme (AYAD)) and 14 volunteers of The Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development(AYAD). DPI/AP has a very good relationship with AYAD, in 2008 AYAD recruit an Australian volunteer (Ms. Maria Karagiozagis) from Australia to assist DPI/AP for 1 year.
Aim of this visiting
- To introduce DPI/AP
- To learning the Disabilities Equality, cross disability and Rights of Persons with Disabilities
- to learning Roles of DPI in Asia-Pacific Region
- To learning the movement of Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Asia pacific
The Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development (AYAD)
The Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development (AYAD) Program is an Australian Government, AusAID, initiative, that provides skilled young Australians the opportunity to volunteer overseas in Asia, the Pacific and Africa.The AYAD Program supports the Millennium Development Goals and is committed to achieving sustainable development through capacity building, skills exchange and institutional strengthening.
