Regional events: Toward the new decade of Persons with disabilities
Asian and the Pacific Disabled People's Organizations United: Towards the Establishment of the Regional Decade on the Effective Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

There are 99 participants from 24 countries Disabled Persons' Organizations with disabilities will attend the meeting. The representatives from DPI membership national assemblies in the region, members of Asia-Pacific Network of Independent Living Centers and representatives of other DPOs.
The objectives of the Meeting are to review the implementation of the Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons, 2003-2012, to consider the possibility of a new regional decade for persons with disabilities for the period 2013-2022 and to explore sub regional approaches to promote the effective implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
The meeting is expected to result in a set of recommendations on the feasibility of a third decade on disability and its possible theme.

Disabled Peoples' International Asia Pacific (DPIAP) orgranized the DPI Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly. The Regional Assembly is the Internal meeting of DPIAP National Members Assembly (MNAs)
The objective of this seminar to strengthen networking and collaboration among DPIAP National Members Assembly (MNAs) and review of achievements and challenges of disability and development in Asia Pacific Region, review DPIAP short and long term plan for the new Asia Pacific Decade of Persons with Disabilities and the way forward the new Asia Pacific decade of persons with disabilities.
And expected outcomes of Regional Assembly DPIAP and its MNAs coordinates closely in each sub region adn the effective implementation of CRPD in the region will be recommended.

Disabled Peoples' International Asia Pacific (DPIAP) in collaboration with Asia Pacific Network for Independent Living Centers (APNIL) and supported by The Nippon Foundation and ABILIS Foundation to organized the Seminar for Establishment of Personal Assistance Service Systems in Asia-Pacific. There are representatives included personal assistant from Asia Pacific Disabled Peoples' Organizations (DPOs) to joint the seminar from: 18 - 22 June 2010.
The objectives of this seminar: to build capacity of leaders of independent living in Asia-Pacific for establishment of personal assistance service systems in their own countries, sharing information and knowledge on personal assistance service systems among participants and to build common basis to promote personal assistance service systems in Asia-Pacific region.
And expected outcomes of the seminar: IL leaders advocate to their governments for realization personal assistance service systems in their own countries, Governments and public in Asia-Pacific countries recognize significance of personal assistance service systems and Model personal assistance service projects begin in Asia-Pacific countries
